Release Schedule for Early 2023 (So Far)

As 2023 draws near, so does the next Silent Motorist Media release. It’s been quite the year. Our deluxe hardcover edition of Philip Fracassi’s Altar released (and immediately sold out) in April. A revised second edition of Hymns of Abomination: Secret Songs of Leeds dropped in June, and while not a SMM project, The Puppet King and Other Atonements, my debut full length collection, released from Journalstone in July. As Silent Motorist Media continues to find new readers, I’m dedicated to sustaining the momentum. Here’s a brief look at what’s next.

Rohit Sawant’s fiction collection, The Endless Walk, is set for a release in March of 2023. This will be SMM’s first original single-author collection. I hope that more will follow.

Sawant’s debut is a dazzling blend of gothic and weird fiction that approaches familiar, sometimes even classic, themes with a deeply imaginative flair and unmistakably enchanting style. Reviewers interested in ARC copies of the collection should email justinburnetteditor@gmail.com. Digital copies will be available shortly, and print copies somewhat closer to the release.

By January of 2023, I’ll be submitting an edited manuscript of …And Still We Wander Further, an Anthology of Labyrinths to Ontology Books, a new weird fiction press. I’ve wanted to compile this Borgesian anthology for years, and I’m thrilled to see the project come to fruition. Expect another all-star cast, including Brian Evenson, Jeffrey Thomas, Jo Kaplan, Kurt Fawver, Daniel Braum, and many more.

Please note that ...And Still We Wander Further is not a SMM release, and I can't provide a final publication date at this time. I'll announce it here as soon as I can.

Other miscellaneous projects include several limited chapbooks (TBA) and a Patreon-exclusive appendix chapbook to The Puppet King. I'm also writing a novel, and considering several possibilities for the 2023/24 cycle. The SMM Patreon is an expanding and quite active place. If you're seeking more minute updates, close interaction with my various creative processes, along with loads of ephemera that surfaces along the way, this is the place for you.

That's all for now. Look for more around the corner, and thank you, always, for your support.
